What is the Altman Studios Pro Network?
The Altman Studios Certified Pro Network is a collection of musicians, pro audio specialists, and visual art specialists that has been prescreened to ensure a high level of professionalism.
How and why did it start?
In the course of doing our work, we found that facilitating the connection of musicians with the industry professionals required to complete a project was a critical need for almost every project we encountered. We decided to create the Altman Studios Certified Pro Network to help facilitate these connections in an efficient manner, ensuring that the needs of both the Hiring Artist and the Certified Professional are met.
How much does it cost to join the Altman Studios Pro Network?
Membership is free!
Why join the Altman Studios Pro Network?
Altman Studios Certified Professionals know that opportunities from Hiring Artists are:

Paying opportunities (no free work) with firm budgets

Opportunities have already been vetted to ensure a high level of certainty of completion (no project’s completion is 100% certain until it is finished)

Hiring artists will interact in a respectful, professional manner

Proper credits will be given to all project contributors
How does membership work?
Step 1
Hiring Artists create opportunities in an opportunity creation system
Step 2
Opportunities are screened by Altman Studios staff to ensure minimum criteria is met
Step 3
Screened opportunities are distributed to relevant professionals the Altman Studios Certified Network
Step 4
Certified professionals respond directly to Hiring Artists to facilitate schedules and payment
When will the Hiring Artist opportunity system be implemented?
Our current go live estimate is July 1, 2021
What are the requirements for certification?

Demonstrate a high level of skill in your chosen field(s) of expertise

Have a moderately active web presence

Have a public EPK (Electronic Press Kit)

Pass a background check
-
Pass a reference check
-
Exhibit a high level of professionalism

Have a 4/5 star average rating or better average across web presence
I have limited professional experience – should I apply to join?
YES! We all have to start somewhere, so we do not see limited experience as a reason for denial of certification. If you review and meet the certification requirements contained in this FAQ you will be approved.
Are there any guarantees that I will make money from these opportunities?
No, we cannot guarantee that you will make money for several reasons:

Opportunities that require your expertise or that meet your minimum budget or other criteria may not currently exist in our system

Hiring Artists may select other Certified Professionals for their projects
You can greatly improve your chances of securing paid work by doing the following:

Only use the best examples of your work in your EPK

Respond to new opportunities in a timely manner

Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with potential clients
We already have unions – is this a competing platform?
On the contrary, we aim to PARTNER with unions to provide another means of securing work for their members! We have used their strict standards for membership as a guide for our own certification process to ensure that there is little to no overlap in our standards of excellence.
The primary difference between union projects and the opportunities we distribute is that we facilitate work for many different types of professionals, whereas union projects are specific to the class of professional represented.
I was denied certification for _____ reason. How long can I wait before re-applying?
You can re-apply immediately. If you believe you have resolved any issues preventing your membership from being approved you should re-apply. Please keep in mind that after 3 denials we will permanently deny your membership. This protects our staff from being bogged down with spam applications and forces potential members to take their applications seriously.
